We perform with interactive objects and installations at festivals and art events. Beside that we are specialized in mobile DJ acts with a unique look.

We’ve been hunting for musical treasures for years now. Records from the early fifties and sixties, original vinyl pressings, of course!  The roots of contemporary pop music. We know how to throw a party and  how to provide an exciting musical backdrop.

AMI6  is one of our interactive old-timers,  ideally suited cut out for cultural festivals and events.

A street phenomenon with a headstrong personality, AMI6 plays with - and frequently surprises - the audience.

SCUBABIANCHI  forms a part of a series of interactive old-timers,  well-suited for cultural festivals and events.

HAPPY FISH

The goldfish that can be seen swimming in the ScubaBianchi are an intricate part of its charm. Some people may feel anxious about the well-being of the goldfish. I appreciate their concern, and I can ensure them that our goldfish are not showing any signs of stress or discomfort. If anything, they seem to glide through the water quite contentedly!

VELO ELECTRO is a converted Velorex that can be hired as a game station or as a small open air cinema. Movies, programs and trailers will be projected on to four screens.

VELOMAN

We also use the VELO ELECTRO to play a legendary computer game with our audience…in 3D. The four screens will show members of the  audience rising to the challenge of achieving the highest score of the day.

The much-coveted VELO ELECTRO-medal will be presented to the winner at the end of the day. The players see a beautiful 3D environment through a diorama box. It can be watched at day and at night, by children and by adults.

"A wink to robotics, a search for closeness’’

Animaltroniek is a layered audio-visual installation; radio-controlled with simple recognisable wooden 3D puzzles as a basis.

I am looking for a form in which robotics, mechanics and electronics are fused in a transparent way and a 'cuddly' creature with its own personality comes into being.

The installation interacts with the public. By means of three objects, I explore the electronic inventiveness and stretch the limits of mechanics.

The objects are far from lifelike, yet the technique is totally clear and transparent and nothing is hidden.

Yet the spectator reacts with a certain emotion. I am fascinated by how quickly the human brain accepts the world through recognition of image and movement, convinces itself and accepts something as realistic. Where is the turning point in the language of movement and imagery, that makes the human brain ‘switch over’ ?

Robots and robotics play an important role in innovation in business, healthcare, transport and agriculture. Within these sectors humans and animals are imitated; experiments are carried out on both a physical and psychological level.

Emotions can be simulated, communication optimised and taste regulated. Scientific research into artificial intelligence is in full development and the self-learning ability has become an important aspect.

.

What if this goes too far?

This installation is a reflection of the question above and contains a certain amount of humour. By combining this humour and the sensory nature of the objects, the installation is accessible to a wide audience. Meanwhile two objects have been realised. The aim is to complete three objects by the spring of 2022.

The installation can be placed in a public space in two ways: a suspended version (AIR) and a mobile version among the audience (MOBILE).

AIR

AIR is an installation of three floating objects in a steel construction. The objects move up and down, follow the spectator and interact.

This is coloured with an audio layer from a self-developed musical instrument.

The ideal environment for this installation is a park, a forest, an industrial environment or a public building.

.

.

MOBILE

MOBILE consists of a circle, around which the audience can stand. One, two or three objects stand on moving chassis in this circle. The objects move and look at you. At set times they break from the circle and ride a trajectory and interact. All objects are remotely controlled. The associates of EXOOT move unobtrusively through the audience, are in control and direct the interaction.

Animaltroniek is inspired by ‘Animatronics’ a discipline which is particularly well known within the development of film and television, particularly in the United States.

COVID 19

Due to covid-19, the coming year it is not clear whether public events will take place again un- der normal circumstances. EXOOT is not subsidised and invests a lot of own time and money in new projects. Before corona, this method was profitable, because agreements were made with festivals and cultural organisations at an early stage. After two particularly meagre seasons, fi- nancial reserves have been completely exhausted. I will therefore be forced to develop the pro- ject step by step. I am dependent on support from organisations. It is particularly important now that agreements about bookings and co-production for 2022 can be made early on.

After a number of try-outs, I am convinced that this project has a right to exist; aesthetically, interactively and with regard to content, it has sufficient quality. It will be a highlight at any festi- val, exhibition or event.

The project can be carried out “Covid-19 proof” with due observance of the present rules and restrictions.

There are two versions that can be booked; AIR or MOBILE. With the MOBILE version you can choose between 1, 2 or 3 objects. Due to the size of the installation and the amount of time re- quired for build-up and dismantling, AIR can preferably be booked for several days.

Especially for exhibitions we develop an automatic pilot consisting of sensors and face recognition.

EDUCATION

We have developed an educational programme for primary schools. We think it is important to enthuse children and bring them into contact with art and technology.

The smallest radio station of the Netherlands, provides festivals and events with fantastic vintage tunes. It creates a heady ambiance and gives nocturnal dancing a healthy shot in the arm.

Very suitable for big, festival-filled squares, dinners, weddings.. or you can use Radio Barkas to bridge a highly inconvenient gap in a festival line-up.

Radio Barkas: a mobile radio station that regularly makes a stop in places that need to be funked up. Vinyl only – back to the roots of contemporary pop music.

THE BARKAS COLLECTION

The Barkas Collection encompasses a very wide range of vinyl records – thousands of them – all collected and lovingly kept by Tristan Kruithof. For the last tweny years, Tristan has been hunting feverishly for those elusive gems - at flea markets, record fairs, online auction, charity shops…

In the collection you’ll find original pressings of records from the fifties and sixties- from  rock&roll to ska, surf, soul and mambo, from rhythm&blues to funk, exotic jazz, calypso and cumbia. At their parties, one moment you may recognize a hit from bygone days that hasn’t lost any of its fizz,  and the next moment you’ll be dazzled by musical jewels mysterious enough to make a music history professor want to twist and shout. Are you are ready for an adventure? This party will swing like a Snapping Shrimp!

Radio Barkas consists of a group of DJ’s, who have played ‘The Barkas Collection’ at

many big festivals and events throughout Europe.

THE MAIN POINTS IN THE TECHNICAL AND THE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE:

A Radio Barkas performance usually lasts 3 hours. (Longer performances are negotiable.)

- Set-up time is 2 hours, 1 hour breakdown. We always arrive 2 hours before showtime.
